Strategic Asset Management > Setup > Base > Fuel mapping

Use this form to create and maintain the fuel mapping transactions between system fuel definitions and external parties fuel definitions under base setup for base item/service Resource against Third Party service provider. All third parties needs to be setup as a supplier in standard AX.

For each Third Party that wants to use the web interface:

  • Map the item numbers we can expect from service provider with the base resources in 360° Strategic Asset Management. 
  • Process stock should also be setup on the mapping table. This indicate if stock will be processed or not.

Navigating the form

To create a new record press CTRL+N or the new button. The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form:


Field name

Field description

Service provider

This field define the external party service provider from where the fuel transactions will be received. This is a supplier/vendor and is for example a bank who reconcile the fuel transactions from a fuel card.


This field define the detail description of the selected service provider (resource) code.

External ID

This field define the external operations. Will be used to capture fuel coupon numbers, and populate the batch reference number that was used to update fuel transactions.


This field defines the detail description of the external operation.


This field is the associated base resource code and map the item numbers we can expect from the service provider with the base resources.

Process stock

This field is selected to indicate that the fuel is stock that should be processed from the inventory stock.


The field defines the default journal name to be used for the transactions. When a Supplier Payment journal is created for all lines received – a journal name is required as well as the default offset account to be used to post this transaction. If a default offset account is not setup against this journal name – the journal will not post.
