Header info

Primary serial

This field defines the asset serial number that is unique to a specific. In some instances this will be used for the vehicle registration number, if the specific ID is used by another unique number, for example a bar coded asset number. This field can be updated, but history records will be created for changes since it is a asset. (For example a vehicle's registration number is used as Primary serial, then the vehicle is allocated to another province, and the primary serial is updated).

Secondary serial

If the asset/specific has more classification that will uniquely define the specific, and can be used as the secondary serial.

Commissioning Date

This field defines the date when the specific asset was commissioned or started to operate. This date is primarily used in the forecasting process.

Line info

UOM

This field defines the unit of measure (UOM) type to define the UOM code. (For example: UOM = Meters, UOM code = Kilometers)

UOM code

This field defines the uniquely identifying code for the Unit of Measure (UOM). Select from the predefined drop down list of UOM codes.

Expected life

This field defines the period/meter over which the specific is expected to be usable, with normal repairs and maintenance for the purpose it was acquired, rented or lease.

Extended life

This field defines the extended life value which significantly help minimize the need to purchase new equipment/assets and associated maintenance, disposal and replacement costs.

Life remaining

The remaining life can be defined as the remaining useful life of the asset/equipment, calculated as:

UOM type = Meter:

  • If extended value is > 0 then Remaining life = Extended life - Cumulative age of specific vehicle for the same UOM.
  • If expected life value is > 0 then Remaining life = Expected life - Cumulative age of specific vehicle for the same UOM

UOM type = Calendar:

  • If extended value is > 0 then Remaining life = Extended life - (system date - commission date of specific for the same UOM)
  • If expected life value is > 0 then Remaining life = Expected life - (system date - commissioning date of specific for the same UOM)

Description

This field defines the description detail for the structure classification condition.
