360° Strategic Asset Management > Common > Strategic Assets > Specific Register > Setup > Ageing

This form is used to define ageing parameters for the specific object type. Ageing parameters are used to measure and record the age of specific meters and current values, for scheduling of maintenance or administration. Object structure ageing data is setup for a certain position in the structure. If a source structure is defined the item installed in the selected position will inherit ageing data from the source position. If a source is not defined the item is seen as having its own meter data against which usage feedback is done.

Note

Ageing is NOT applicable or definable on object type ORGANISATION, LOCATION, HUMAN or LIVE STOCK.

Fields

Field name

Field description

UOM

This field defines the unit of measure (UOM) type to define the UOM code. (For example: UOM = Meters, UOM code = Kilometers)

UOM code

This field defines the uniquely identifying code for the Unit of Measure (UOM). Select from the predefined drop down list of UOM codes.

General : Ageing

Current age

This field defines the current ageing of the specific asset as a value base on the UOM code selected. (For example: A vehicle's current ODO meter reading is 2350 km).

Installation age

This field defines the ageing value of the specific asset at installation base on the UOM code selected.

Cumulative age

This field defines the ageing of the specific asset as a cumulative value base on the UOM code selected.

Parent age

This field defines the ageing value of the parent specific asset at installation base on the UOM code selected.

Meter increase

This field defines the meter increase value for the specific asset in terms of its usage.

Date last updated

This field defines the date when the specific asset's ageing was last updated.

General : Life expectancy

Last occurrence meter

This field defines the ageing of the specific asset as a value when the life was last extended.

Last occurrence date

This field defines the date when the life was last extended of this specific asset.

Expected life

This field defines the period/meter over which the specific is expected to be usable, with normal repairs and maintenance for the purpose it was acquired, rented or lease.

Extended life

This field defines the extended life value which significantly help minimize the need to purchase new equipment/assets and associated maintenance, disposal and replacement costs.

Life remaining

The remaining life can be defined as the remaining useful life of the asset/equipment, calculated as:

UOM type = Meter:

  • If extended value is > 0 then Remaining life = Extended life - Cumulative age of specific vehicle for the same UOM.
  • If expected life value is > 0 then Remaining life = Expected life - Cumulative age of specific vehicle for the same UOM

UOM type = Calendar:

  • If extended value is > 0 then Remaining life = Extended life - (system date - commission date of specific for the same UOM)
  • If expected life value is > 0 then Remaining life = Expected life - (system date - commissioning date of specific for the same UOM)
