360° Strategic Asset Management > Setup > Object > Building, Facility and Plant Definition

This function is to create/view object types building, facility or plant with specific object structure. Facility/building/Plant: General: Permanent, semi-permanent, or temporary commercial or industrial property such as a building, plant, or structure built, established, or installed for the performance of one or more specific activities or functions. All facilities have a management structure that determines relationships between functions to carry out defined tasks.

Use this form to create and maintain the building/facility/plant objects. This object definition will only list/view all of the object types that are defined for types = building, facility or plant. The information related to this definition is the same as the object definition, except that in this instance the information and setup is specific for the object type = building, facility or plant.

The following object structure setup functions are available for the creating of object types = Building, Facility or Plant . (Grayed out buttons on the menu are not applicable for object types = building, facility or plant).

The following setup functionality are available for Object Structure for the Building, Facility or Plant.

Function

Description

Characteristics

Use this form/process to create and maintain the characteristic structures for an object within a BUILDING, FACILITY OR PLANT. Characteristics are generically defined per Object Type and based on this definition all the master characteristics will automatically be transferred on the bespoke Object.

Ageing

Use this form/process to create and maintain to define the ageing parameters for the object type. Object structure ageing data is setup for a certain position in the structure.

Area size

Use this form/process to create and maintain to define the area size of a structure. This will be used for objects types = BUILDING, FACILITY that are created and used for renting purposes.

Item

This form is used to define valid Item Numbers and Supplier Part Numbers per Object Type. An Object Type can be associated with multiple Item Numbers, but an Item Number can only ‘belong’ to a single Object Group

Default Accounts

This form is used to define default accounts and to link the object and general ledger account. The account defined in this instance will be used as default for time and material events. The parameter settings must be done in such a way to accommodate local financial requirements.

Generated Numbers

Use this form/process to create the number sequences that are used as unique identifiers within 360° Strategic Asset Management.  Each key element (sub-module of360° Strategic Asset Management) has its own number sequence. Number sequences can be defined per organisation unit and 360° Strategic Asset Management will utilise the latter as defined. This enables the association of a number sequence for a specific use within a specific organisation. For example: the electrical workshop can for maintenance work orders have a different number sequence than the boiler workshop. It is possible to associate the same number sequence for different use categories across multiple organisation units.

Related objects

Use this form/process to create and maintain the relationship between object structures for an object within a BUILDING, FACILITY OR PLANT. It is possible for an instance to define which facility is responsible for planning maintenance or operations for other objects within the structure of the facility. It is further possible to indicate at which physical location a specific facility is located at.

Permit

Use this form/process to create and maintain the permits for objects within a BUILDING, FACILITY OR PLANT. The permit is then linked to the object to indicate the type of permit needed for the object type.

Related image

This function is used to load images of objects.

Validate data

The purpose of validating data is to ensure that the data used within the system is clean, useful and correct. If the structure type is “Rotable” then object ageing must exist and a related object must be specified. In the case where a related object has been specified and the position is not the top of the structure a check will be done to determine if the object code and structure code are linked is also linked at a higher level in the same structure. This check for loops will be done recursively for each higher level in the specific structure. Ensure that the warehouse set-up for an organisation type object is correct. The following rules apply:

·  A warehouse must be specified for an organisation type object.

·  Warranty codes for a supplier type warehouse and an execution type warehouse must differ.

·  Warranty codes for a quarantine type warehouse and an execution type warehouse must differ.
