Delay management: Unplanned deferment of a scheduled activity because of something or occurrence that impedes its commencement or continuation. Delay usually has time-associated cost effects on a contract which may be measured in terms of time, money, or a combination thereof. This function is used to register the delay record against a scheduled activity.

Key features of delay management includes:

  • Supporting delay details for risk, operations; maintenance and incidents;
  • Creating delay status codes;
  • Creating delay reason codes;

Delay code

Select a delay code from the available lookup list of reasons. (If for example the scheduled activity is of type = Operations, then the only delay codes (reasons) available for selection will be of type = Operations.)

Description

This field defines a sort description of the delay.

Delay module

The delay module will defaulted in from where the delay is created.

Delay details

Resource code

This field defines the resource detail that is the reason for the delay. (For example if the delay is on an operations consignment task, and there are 2 drivers on the task responsible for the delivery of the consignment, but there are no drivers available for the required time, then trade = drivers will be the reason for the delay.)

Resource description

Select the resource description that is the reason for the delay.

Resource qty

Add the quantity value that are the cause of the delay. (For example = number of drivers that are required for the operations execution).

Operation route leg

If a route with route legs are linked to the operation, and the delay is on a specific route leg, then select the route leg.

From location

This field defines the starting location for the route, and will be defaulted in from the route detail when a route leg is selected.

To location

This field defines the end location for the route, and will be defaulted in from the route detail when a route leg is selected.

Departure

This field defines the date/time when the transportation on the route leg started.

ETA

This field defines the date/time of the estimated time of arrival at the route leg destination point.

Arrival

This field defines the date/time of arrival at the route leg destination point.

Delay note

This field defines a detailed reason for the delay on this task.

Feedback note

This field defines the feedback on how the delay was resolve and what measures were taken to ensure that the task can be completed.

Responsible

Responsible person

Select from the lookup the person who is responsible for the resolving of this delay.

Responsible organisation

Select from the lookup the organisation and organisation structure responsible for the resolving of the delay.

Responsible organisation description

This define the detail description of the organisation and structure.

Responsible supplier

If a supplier is responsible for delay on this task, select the supplier from the lookup list.

Name

The field define the name of the supplier that was selected as the responsible supplier.

Detail updates and estimations

Logged by

This is the user identifier code of the person who logged the delay against the task.

Name

This will be the detailed name description of the person who logged the delay.

Date logged

Define the date/time when the delay was logged (reported).

Created by

Define the user identification of the person who created the delay record that was reported.

Created date/time

Define the system date/time when the delay was created on the system.

Date registered

This field defines date/time when the delay was registered against the delay module.

Estimated date of completion

This field defines date/time when it is estimated to be resolved or completed.

Date completed

This field defines date/time when the delay is resolved or completed.

UOM code

This field defines unit of measure for the duration of the delay.

Estimated duration

This field defines duration that is estimated on how long it will take to resolve/complete the delay.

Actual delay duration

This field defines the actual duration on how long it has taken to resolve/complete the delay.

Status

Delay status

This field defines the status in which the delay is. When a new delay is registered, the responsible person, (if filled in, and has a valid AX employee id linked), should be notified via an alert message. When a delay is completed, person who logged the delay (Logged by), should receive a notification (alert) that the delay has been completed. (If the logged by user id is linked to a valid AX employee id).
